It’s official! The 4th Annual Strong Black Women Redefined Conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2023 and will take place at the Boston-Dedham Hilton Hotel in Dedham, Massachusetts.
Our mission for Strong Black Woman Redefined is to empower Black women to lead a life that does not force them to hide behind a mask of faux resiliency. We do this by offering culture-centered programming that helps Black women: articulate and identify what they are going through, get connected with therapists/wellness practitioners, start self-care journeys, and so much more!
We are currently accepting applications from Black women who want to share their expertise in the wellness space as it relates to healing Black women. We are considering proposals from clinicians, wellness practitioners, policymakers, peer support specialists, recovery coaches, persons with lived experience – anyone who can provide a sound, interactive, culture-centered workshop that is aligned with Mindful + Melanated’s mission to empower Black women to thrive, not just survive.
LAST YEAR we tackled topics such as: high-functioning depression, setting boundaries, self-care, and imposter syndrome. If you are interested in sharing your knowledge at this year’s event, complete this online form.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an IN-PERSON conference; we are not accepting proposals for virtual workshops. Applications that are incomplete and/or submitted incorrectly will not be considered. Due to the high volume of proposals, only applicants who are considered will be contacted via email to schedule a chat to discuss how their submission aligns with our mission.
Not a public speaker but want to share your gifts and talents to help us make this year’s conference a success? Complete this form and apply to be one of our event volunteers!

Strong Black Woman Redefined is a mental wellness conference hosted by Mindful + Melanated. Designed by a Black woman for Black women, this annual event brings together policymakers, providers, and persons with lived experience to dismantle the damaging cultural construct of the Strong Black Woman. During this full-day conference we bridge the gap between suffering in silence and seeking support by providing mental wellness education and resources aimed at helping Black women heal.
